Rotary ScreensRotary screens are used for continuous separation of suspended solids in waste water. The main operational component is a wedge wire roatating drum. The drum speed is controlled by an external electrical motor and gearbox.
How they work: Waste water is either pumped or gravity fed onto the external surface of the drum with water passing through the drum with solids exceeding the slot size remaining on the surface of the drum. As the drum rotates a scraper removes the particulate, discharging via an integrated chute into a collection container.

Generally used in the food-processing industry they are commonly found in meat-processing factories, slaughterhouses, dairy works, canning factories etc.
