DAF is a
physical process used for separating contaminants from waste and water. The
process saturates effluent with air under pressure, and on release to
atmosphere micro bubbles are formed attaching to the contaminant as they rise
to the surface.
In some
applications lamella plates can be incorporated to enhance separation, giving
potential reductions in Suspended Solids and associated COD (Chemical Oxygen
Demand) of up to 90%. Dependant on waste
type, chemicals can be used to further enhance performance removing colour and
colloidal material. A 90% reduction in
both COD and Suspended Solids will significantly reduce effluent bills and aid in meeting
compliance.
Typical Installation Sites:
-Flotation has proven to work effectively and economically in meat-processing factories, slaugterhouses, poultry processing, fish-processing, dairies and canning factories among others.
Benefits: -Small footprint with high throughput -Manufactured in high quality stainless steel -Tailor made to meet site requirements
Performance:
Typically we would expect to see solids removal, colour
and colloidal matter.
