The Project
The leading law firm is located in a prestigious office building on the fringe of the City of London employing about 1100 employees. Two food serving areas are in use, one on the ground floor catering for all staff and one on the eighth floor. Another kitchen is located on the first floor servicing client meeting rooms. About 400 staff use the facilities at lunch time.
The Problem
The building was occupied from new five years ago and the premises department had experienced problems with reoccurring drain blockages primarily caused by waste fats, oils and grease. They were keen to find an efficient and low maintenance solution to resolve this.
The Solution
The product used to solve the problem is WPL's Grease Guzzler. This product is an innovative, self contained grease management system designed for commercial catering facilities serving hot food and producing waste Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG).
The system utilizes patented pre-activation bio-technology, ensuring efficient and effective drain cleansing with minimal impact on the environment. The Grease Guzzler is designed as a ‘fit and forget' product, which helps to prevent odours caused by rancid grease.
A Grease Guzzler has been installed in each of the kitchens and pot washing area, dosing bio-fluid into the drains once a day at 12pm and are successfully keeping the drains clear. The firm's premises supervisor comments “We have researched other alternatives, such as grease traps, over the last year and believe the Grease Guzzler to be the best solution. The Grease Guzzler blends in well with the kitchen area due to its commercial design and the fact a number of large commercial catering organisations are using the product convinced us of its high quality.
