WPL offers large scale wastewater treatment equipment, and its range of transportable wastewater treatment modules offer a safe, convenient and cost-effective solution whenever and wherever it is needed. Installations include a permanent treatment plant for 2,300 staff at a Nottinghamshire power station, and provision of a permanent solution for a new motorway service station to serve up to 3,000 visitors. Most recently, WPL has supplied temporary treatment plant equipment via Natta Building Company to meet the needs of a large construction site in Stratford, East London. The plant is sufficiently flexible for treating the wastewater of up to 3,000 construction workers to a standard which is discharged into the watercourse.
Available for hire or purchase, WPL’s range of units can be specified for all kinds of permanent or temporary above-ground applications, to supplement or replace existing plant where flows and loads have increased, or as an emergency treatment facility. Each unit is completely self-contained and simple to install, with no structural work required, enabling quick and easy mobilisation on site. Individual WPL transportable wastewater treatment modules are available in a range of sizes for population equivalents from 300 to 1,125 and can be configured in multiples to provide treatment for greater population sizes. Smaller units are also available on request. All plants are bespoke-designed to meet the effluent quality of each application, down to 10mg/l BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and 2mg/l Ammonia.
WPL transportable wastewater treatment modules feature a Submerged Aerated Filter (SAF) which utilises a reliable fixed film process for high removal rates of organic material and suspended solids. The SAF is segmented to provide both carbonaceous and nitrifying processes in one tank and to mitigate process risks associated with variable flows. Air is introduced to the SAF by a series of air diffusers and each diffuser can be removed and replaced if required without the need to shut down the whole plant.
WPL has designed its transportable wastewater treatment plants to deliver low operating and maintenance costs. An internal self-scouring system reducing de-sludging requirements, and all associated mechanical and electrical equipment is located in a separate enclosure within the module for ease of servicing and maintenance. There are also no internal moving parts, which means safer working access as and when required for servicing or maintenance.
Each unit is supplied complete with operation and maintenance manual and WPL can provide full on-site support if required, including installation and commissioning. Service contracts are also available and can be tailored to suit individual site requirements. WPL is able to offer a choice of flexible hire periods and purchase options, including purchase after hire, and has an extensive fleet of hire equipment available to ensure a rapid response to customer needs.
