Direct and gravity feed domestic rainwater harvesting for housing developers
WPL's RainRetain Developer's systems have been specifically designed with developers, housing
associations and large scale house builders in mind. These systems provide a cost-effective means of incorporating sustainable products into developments, particularly where minimum standards must be met under the Code for Sustainable Homes and Building Regulations.
Why choose RainRetain?

Available in various quantities, the RainRetain Developer's domestic systems include tanks, pump and filter. The tank size is 1600 litres, and these can be linked in series for larger systems. There is a choice of direct feed and gravity feed (with a header tank). The tanks are lightweight and are supplied in two halves, stacked on pallets, making transportation, storage on site and installation easy.
The excavation area is small compared to other tanks on the market and is flush with ground level for low visual impact. In most cases, these systems do not require a concrete back fill.Tanks can be installed under a driveway, though a reinforced concrete slab must be used, together with a cast iron manhole cover.

Home System - direct feed

A direct feed system is ideal for developments of flats and apartments without a loft space, or houses and developments that do not have the need for a header tank.
The recycled rainwater is pumped from the tank and benefits from operating at the same pressure as mains water, to supply toilets, washing machines and garden hose pipes.
There is an automatic top up feature which draws mains water into the tank in the unlikely event that the tank runs dry.
Home System - gravity feed
This alternative to the Developer's direct feed system uses a header tank. It is ideal for housing associations, or where there is a requirement for a header tank. The tank has a mechanical mains top up which does not rely on power to operate, and switches automatically to mains water if the tank is low.
Home system includes:
- Tank(s)
- Submersible pump
- Valve and float switch
- External filter
- Header tank with mechanical mains top up (gravity system only)
